"Running on earth is punishing. Running on the moon? Not so much."
The Alter G uses NASA patented differential air pressure unweighting technology to provide an environment that allows runners to increase their mileage and accelerate recovery from injury. In 2005, Nike's Oregon Project tested the Alter G prototype and now Coach Alberto Salazar uses it regularly to add 15-25% more volume to his athletes' training programs. It allows Olympians Mo Farah and Galen Rupp to add distance to their already high mileage without overtraining. Come hear more about this new technology at a presentation on November 23rd after the Monday group run at the Fleet Feet Sports Ridgeway location.
Presenting will be Melanie McCormick PT, DPT:
Melanie graduated from Ithaca College in 2012 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. She currently works at the Agape Physical Therapy clinic in Chili. As an avid distance runner, she enjoys helping her fellow runners get back on their feet. Her passion has grown over the years to include half/full marathons and she hopes to one day return to the Boston Marathon.
